VotD 12/15/11:Architecture By Helicopters

In the future, quadrocopters could take the difficult work out of assembling certain buildings.

Welcome to a new feature we're trying out over the next few weeks: the Manufacturing.net Video of the Day. With an increasing amount of good content being distributed through video, we feel that it's important to give space to the best ones we've found. And we all know that sometimes, it's good to just take a break and take in some cool sights or interesting ideas.

You've likely seen videos of quadrocopters before, but these architects have taken the usefulness of those miniature helicopters to new heights with an installation called "Flight Assembled Architecture." Computers control the quadrocopters as they assemble an already-designed brick construction. The designers suggest that in the future, these quadrocopters could take the difficult work out of assembling certain buildings.
