There are already police robots currently on the market, and they can do a number of tasks, like deliver phones during hostage negotiations, or investigate areas too unsafe for uniformed officers. The problem is that they're also prohibitively expensive for most police forces, so they do without. However, in this week's episode of The Product Design Show, Vince and Allison talk about a highschool FIRST robotics team that was given a unique opportunity: develop a crime-fighting robot for their local police force. They needed something that was economical and could climb stairs, and the "Pink Team" didn't fail to deliver.
