Schneider Electric (Raleigh, NC) announced additions to its Modicon line of automation control solutions. The new Modicon Quantum Ethernet I/O (QEIO) system adds Ethernet capability to improve the flexibility and reliability of controllers. Quantum Ethernet I/O solution was created to ensure high operational availability of processes and improve data flow – key issues for most industrial control systems today. Supporting this upgrade, Schneider Electric also launched the ConneXium Industrial Firewall for additional security as well as the Modicon Hart Interface and ConneXium Cables with rugged RJ45 connectors for increased durability within the industrial environment. The ConneXium Industrial Firewalls are a new range of security devices that protect industrial networks, automation systems, SCADA systems and process control facilities from external cyber threats. Schneider Electric’s range of ConneXium Cables with rugged RJ45 connectors for industrial applications better meet the requirements of Ethernet-based industrial applications, and help reduce the possibility of interrupted communications within the applications. The new Modicon STB HART Interface Multiplexer supports HART version V7 and is modular, scalable and extensible for each solution.
