Enginasion (West Boylston, MA) announced it is now offering both LabVIEW and Android programming services for industrial control systems. LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Engineering Workbench) is a computer system design platform and development environment for a visual programming language from National Instruments. Originally released for the Apple Macintosh in 1986, LabVIEW is commonly used for data acquisition, instrument control, and industrial automation on a variety of platforms including Microsoft Windows, various versions of UNIX, Linux, and Mac OS X. Android is a Linux-based operating system for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers. Android has a large community of developers writing applications (“apps”) that extend the functionality of the devices. As of February 2012 there were more than 450,000 apps available for Android.
