Panasonic Solutions Company (Secaucus, NJ) has announced the newest member of its Toughbook U1 ultra-mobile PC product family, with the Toughbook U1 Ultra. The new model has a TransflectivePlus display for easy viewing in direct sunlight, a 64GB solid state hard drive, 2GB of memory, and Windows 7.

Panasonic Solutions Company (Secaucus, NJ) has announced the newest member of its Toughbook U1 ultra-mobile PC product family, with the Toughbook U1 Ultra. The new model has a TransflectivePlus display for easy viewing in direct sunlight, a 64GB solid state hard drive, 2GB of memory, and Windows 7. According to the company, the device is ideal for mobile jobs on the plant floor, and the system can include GPS, barcode readers, a fingerprint reader, and mobile broadband. Additional features include:

  • Certification to meet MIL-STD-810G and IP65 standards for hazardous environmental conditions, along with the ability to withstand a drop of 6’ from any angle.
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, and optional Gobi2000 mobile broadband technology from Qualcomm.
  • The ability to use the Toughbook with Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T wireless networks, allowing workers to stay connected at all times.
  • A 9-hour battery life.
