Gateway Safety (Cleveland, OH) has developed the Serpent Ventilated Safety Helmet, designed to offset the adverse effects of working in hot weather. According to the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, workers in hot environments face the risk of heat stress, which can lower mental alertness and physical performance, particularly when wearing safety clothing. The Serpent helmet was designed with the CoolSense six-vent airflow system to keep workers cool on hot days. The helmet weighs just 13.1 ounces, and has a design workers will actually want to wear. The Serpent complies with the ANSI 89.1 Standard for Type I, Class C helmets. It should not be used by electricians or by people who work around highly conductive equipment.  Prevent heat stress and heat stroke with the Serpent.
