A free-spinning fan poses a safety hazard to maintenance workers and causes wear on belts, shafts, bearings, and attached equipment when the fan direction is reversed during start-up.

The Draftguard uses a high-torque clutch to prevent backward fan rotation. This device mounts to either Taper-Lock or QD bushings used on ACHE belt drive systems.
