MobileScan3D is a mobile CNC laser scanning solution, available from Wenzel/Xspect Solutions (Wixom, Michigan), that allows for fully-automatic reverse engineering and part inspection verification. According to the company, its portability and rapid set-up let users scan on location without time-consuming efforts. The system comprises of a 2-axis CNC swivel head, onto which the scanning sensor is mounted using a “quick-change” adaptor. Three interchangeable scanning heads are available: a 100-290mm head with an accuracy of ±0.01mm; a 400-570mm head with an accuracy of ±0.05mm; and a 1,000-1,800mm head with an accuracy of ±0.15mm.
