A UPS That Survives In Extreme Temperatures

Falcon Electric, Inc. (Irwindale, CA) has announced a new line of SSG-RP Series Ultra-Wide Temperature UPS, with models from 1kVA to 3kVA, which are designed to operate reliably in temperature environments beyond standard UPS products (-22° to 149°F). The LCD display has been replaced with a high-temperature display, internal components have been upgraded, and special batteries with a wide operational temperature range have been incorporated.

The LCD display has been replaced with a high-temperature display, internal components have been upgraded, and special batteries with a wide operational temperature range have been incorporated. Other features include:

  • Batteries that come packaged in a separate 2U enclosure, which are “hot-swappable.”
  • Tightly regulated, sinewave output power when operating from a dirty incoming AC power source.
  • Falcon’s UPSilon shutdown and management software — which supports Windows platforms, as well as Novell Netware, Linux, and FreeBSD — for easy monitoring of the UPS system.
