Magnetic Powder Sorting

Eriez (Erie, PA) has announced its newly redesigned Dry Vibrating Magnetic Filter (DVMF) with a stainless steel construction option that makes it an ideal choice for handling various powders. The DVMF uses a high-intensity, high-gradient magnetic field generated in the bore of a solenoid coil.

A matrix system then amplifies the magnetic field, which produces collection sites for the capture of ferrous contaminants. Other features include:

  • The ability to have units polished and passivated to pass stringent sanitary standards for product contact surfaces.
  • The capability to remove fine abraded 316 stainless steel, which is typically non-magnetic to most magnetic separators.
  • Attracting fine particulate that metal detectors and x-rays would not otherwise identify.
