Olympus (Center Valley, PA) has developed the new DM-620 PCM audio recording device featuring a three-microphone TRESMIC system designed to capture low frequency sound for premium recordings. The device also features a “scene select” option, noise cancelation, a zoom microphone, and a low-cut filter. The scene select helps optimize recording quality with preset environmental settings that block out unnecessary background noises that sometimes overwhelm a recording. Other features include:
- 4 GB of internal flash memory.
- An “Auto” recording level mode that prevents distortion by decreasing microphone sensitivity during a sudden volume spike.
- A lightweight aluminum body that is 4.4” long and 3 ounces in weight.
