IMPO readers voted in droves for the third annual IMPOvation product technology award. From a pool of over 100 nominees, you picked your favorites:

The winner:

New DryLube Bearings from SKF (Lansdale, PA) eliminate the need for grease relubrication and are designed to perform virtually maintenance-free over a wide temperature range. Filled with a dry lubricant based on graphite or molybdenum disulfide and a resin binder, the dry lubricant maintains a thin film on the bearing’s rolling elements to protect against metal-to-metal contact and any potential damage caused by solid contaminants. The bearings can provide effective lubrication up to 660ºF and exhibit minimal lubricant loss over time. Eliminating slippery surfaces for enhanced worker safety, the lubricant can also help contribute to “green” operating goals compared with many oils and greases.

Consuming less than half the electricity of 150-watt HID units, Dialight’s 70-watt SafeSite Series delivers efficacy of 79 lumens per watt. Available in cool white and neutral white models, the SafeSite’s reflector-based optics design enhances lighting efficiency by directing the light where it’s needed in a 180 degree pattern, reducing light spill and pollution.
