Salmonella Testing

The PDX-SIB test is both reliable and inexpensive with presumptive results available for the most common Salmonella species within 24 to 48 hours.

The PDX-SIB test is both reliable and inexpensive with presumptive results available for the most common Salmonella species within 24 to 48 hours. No sub-culturing or specimen transfers are required. Users must collect a sample, inoculate the PDX-SIB media and incubate. The test is AOAC-RI approved. The Salmonella-selective enrichment media contains a Salmonella-specific color-change indicator. The broth turns yellow when Salmonella is present.  The product is specifically designed as a critical control point surveillance tool. The collection and test system is a closed system; once the broth media is inoculated, the tube remains closed for the remainder of the test.
