Sewer-Saving Grease Interceptors

Highland Tank’s Passive Grease Interceptors use a diffusion and switchback baffling system, which retains wastewater long enough to allow liquefied grease to cool down, separate and congeal.

Highland Tank’s Passive Grease InterceptorsHighland Tank’s Passive Grease Interceptors (PGI) are designed to intercept and collect large quantities of fats, oil and grease (FOG), as well as solid food waste, discharged from large commercial or institutional kitchens. The grease interceptors prevent the discharge of FOG into the sanitary sewer system and aid in the prevention of sanitary sewer blockages to protect the sewer system from overflows. System features include:

  • Diffusion and switchback baffling system, which retains wastewater long enough to allow liquefied grease to cool down, separate and congeal, and allows for solid material to settle.
  • Large volumes to accommodate specified retention times.
Above ground rectangular or cylindrical interceptors.
  • Optional custom design.
  • Optional custom sampling ports.
