Flowmeter For Hazardous Areas

KROHNE, Inc., announces that it has received North American approval for use of the H250 M40 variable area flowmeter in hazardous areas. The H250 M40 combines the major explosion protection types in one device. It can be used in any suitable application that requires intrinsically safe (IS) or non-incendive (NI) wiring strategies, as well as for dust-ignition or explosion proof installations. The worldwide approvals make the H250 M40 flowmeter a suitable choice for large international companies that have a stringent explosion protection strategy for all plants but also require local approvals. In addition, the flowmeter has a stainless steel housing and an explosion proof (Ex-d/XP) enclosure, making it ideal for the oil and gas industry. These purely mechanical flow indicators can easily be upgraded with 1 or 2 limit switches (NAMUR, transistor, or reed), a 4...20mA signal output with HART, a graphical LCD with totalizer and pulse output, as well as a digital, bus-powered communication interface using FOUNDATION Fieldbus or the PROFIBUS (Process Field Bus) PA standard.
