The Mettler-Toledo Hi-Speed Starweigh checkweighing system is designed to be the optimal solution for checkweighing of a wide range of smaller-sized and unusual-shaped packages containing valuable materials. The system provides highly accurate checkweighing of light-weight round, oval and even rectangular packages, and it delivers milligram inspection accuracy at throughput of up to 400 ppm. Simple to install and requiring no line cuts, the Starweigh checkweigher can be integrated into packaging lines by simply straddling the user’s existing conveyor. HI-Speed has enhanced the checkweighing performance of the Starweigh by adding the XS control HMI, with a 15-inch full-color touch screen user interface. The Starweigh product infeed is designed to operate “butt-to-butt” and require no product spacing devices. The system maintains total control of the product, making it ideal for high-volume pharmaceutical applications. The starwheel at the core of the Starweigh system ensures the highest weighing accuracy by releasing the products after each feed step prior to weighing. Weighing is then done as a highly accurate, static weighing process.
