Molex now offers customized capacitive fluid-level sensors that are disposable, but come with reusable electronic circuitry. According to the company, the sensors also deliver:
- The detection of substances in containers for continuous and threshold measurement without directly contacting the materials.
- The measurement of fluid or granular material in non-metallic containers.
- The ability to measure through almost any non-metallic material.
- A 95 percent accuracy in auto mode and 98 percent accuracy when manually calibrated.
- Embedded software that can be configured for maintenance-free auto-calibration or manual calibration to maximize sensor accuracy.
- Flexible circuitry that conforms to the container shape via pressure-sensitive adhesive.
- Easy mounting to the outside of a container, allowing measurement of caustic fluids, in addition to granular and pulverized materials.
- Solid-state capacitive technology without moving parts to eliminate problems with mechanical wear over time.
- Multiple output interface options, including SB, I2C and discrete signals.
- A customized interface for virtually any application requirement.
- Compatibility with virtually any Molex interconnect or cable assembly, and with integrated designs using Molex customized user interfaces, including membrane switches and capacitive touch technology.
