A Potpourri of Process Calibrators

Extech Instruments introduces the PRC process calibrator to test transmitters, transducers, indicators, sensors and other industrial process components.

Extech Instruments introduces the PRC process calibrator to test transmitters, transducers, indicators, sensors and other industrial process components. According to the company, its new meters — the PRC10, 15, 20 and 30 — not only offer simplified controls to easily monitor and calibrate process systems for optimized operation, but also feature an ergonomic, compact design with a durable housing made for long service. Large, illuminated dot-matrix dual displays ensure easy viewing of both source readings and measured values like loop current, temperature, voltage, etc. Up to five configurations can be programmed by the user for expedited testing. Available AC power makes it easy to perform continuous or extended testing in the field or on the bench. The PRC10, 15, 20 and 30 each come with a hard carrying case, universal AC adapter, test leads, alligator clips and/or thermocouple calibration cables, plus six 1.5-V AA batteries. More specifically:

  • The PRC10 current calibrator comes with a 0- to 24-mA source; measures 0 to 50 mA and uses 24-VDC loop power.
  • The PRC15 current and voltage calibrator hosts a 0- to 24-mA and 0- to 2-0V source, and measures 0 to 50 mA and 0 to 20 V.
  • The PRC20 thermocouple calibrator sources and measures 8 thermocouple types, including C, E, J, K, N, R, S and T, and -10 to 60 mV.
  • The PRC30 multifunction process calibrator combines all features of the PRC10, 15 and 20 with flexible and easy-to-use testing and calibration capabilities.
