ASM POSIROTASM Sensors specifically developed its magnetic POSIROT® PMIS4/PMIR5 position sensors for rotary applications that require high electromagnetic compatibility protection, large guiding distance tolerances and a signal performance of up to 327,680 pulses/360°. These incremental, non-contact measuring systems additionally consist of a sensor head on the PMIS4 and an incremental magnetic ring on the PMIR5, while both remain unaffected by contamination from oil and dust, as well as are suitable for use in harsh, dusty industrial environments. More specifically, according to the company:

  • The PMIS4 sensor head is made ??of a fully enclosed, shielded metal housing. It not only protects against electromagnetic interference and thermal overload, but is also IP67 certified. Although HTL, TTL and TTL24V output types are available, the guiding distance is ±1 mm.
  • The PMIR5 magnetic ring comes in 3 sizes with flange sizes of 83, 133 or 233 mm. They are available with decadic, binary or degree division, and reach corresponding 131,072 pulses/360°, 196,608 pulses/360° or 327,680 pulses/360° capacities. The PMIR5’s temperature ranges from -40° to 85°C, whereas its maximum pulse frequency is 480 kHz.
