Endress+Hauser has released the Proline Promag L800 battery-powered electromagnetic flowmeter to measure flow in water and wastewater systems located at remote sites. The company believes that its flowmeter further furnishes:
- An integrated Global System for Mobile Communications and General Packet Radio Services (GSM/GPRS) cellphone system, which is a mobile communications technology that works world-wide, that allows data, such as alarms or totalizer counts, to be transmitted as an email over the cellphone network.
- The capability to receive alarms, query totalizer readings and change the flowmeter configuration at a central control room once configured.
- The flexibility to be configured as a point-to-point connection, or as a modem that can be openly accessed via the Internet or a company Intranet.
- A built-in data logger that saves data on a 2-GB SD card, and can be configured to send emails periodically (such as once a day) with a CSV file attached to the email.
- The recording of time, date, totalizer counter readings, positive and negative totals and partials, flow, measuring cycles per hour, battery charge and temperature of the electronics board.
- Sizes from 2 to 24 inches, pressures up to 232 PSI and a maximum flow rate of 33 feet/second.
- Accommodations for liquids having a minimum conductivity of greater than or equal to 50 µS/cm.
- An accuracy of 0.5 percent of reading with a repeatability of 0.2 percent.
- The ability to be programmed to generate an alarm email only if flow deviates from the setpoint, eliminating the need for continuous monitoring and reducing cellphone charges.
- A polycarbonate transmitter housing with a choice of HR, PU or PTFE lining.
- KTW, WRAS, NSF and ACS international drinking water approvals.
