All weighing solutions come with the POWERCELL PDX load cell network (which means no junction boxes are required); a 5-year, no-risk guarantee; and third-party testing to withstand a direct lightning strike. According to the company, the POWERCELL PDX load cell takes reliability to a new level by including predictive diagnostics to keep users continuously informed of their scale’s performance, which includes automatic notification of weighing errors, overloading, environmental conditions, network health, load cell voltages and enclosure integrity. More specifically:
- The VTS101 steel deck truck scale consists of a steel deck supported by orthotropic ribs that are completely sealed from the elements by automated continuous welds, whereas the ribs are shaped to distribute concentrated loads better than I-beam designs, leading to a longer life of the scale, according to the company.
- The VTC101 concrete and steel composite structure combines a concrete driving surface with a robust orthotropic understructure. The composite design draws on the strengths of both concrete and steel to produce a durable structure, yet eliminates a common cause of premature deck failure — voids in the deck that occur when pouring concrete around I-beam flanges and sharp corners.
