Swagelok® electric and steam traced pre-insulated bundled tubing provides process fluid freeze protection and temperature maintenance in a variety of analytical and process instrumentation applications including impulse, process, and sampling lines. The Swagelok tubing bundle is insulated with non-wicking, fibrous glass insulation and covered with a tough PVC or urethane jacket. This pre-engineered bundle can be installed more quickly and can provide more consistent thermal performance than field traced and insulated systems. A variety of configurations with multiple process tubes and either electric or steam tracers are available:
- Swagelok electric traced bundled tubing features a self-regulating electric tracer that lowers heat output as the bundle warms. It is typically used to maintain process temperatures up to 250°F (121°C), without the need for dedicated temperature controllers.
- Swagelok light steam traced bundled tubing provides freeze protection and maintains process temperatures between 50 and 200°F (10 to 93°C). The process tubes are separated from the tracer tubes by a layer of insulation that lowers the heat transfer rate and provides a more constant temperature over longer lengths of tubing.
- In Swagelok heavy steam traced bundled tubing, the process tube is in direct contact with the tracer to provide process temperature maintenance from 200 to 400°F (93 to 204°C).
