The PetroOXY Rapid Oxidation Stability tester from Petrotest Instruments has been approved for ASTM D7525-Standard Test Method for Oxidation Stability of Spark Ignition Fuel—Rapid Small Scale Oxidation Test (RSSOT). It’s designed to replace traditional stability test methods (ASTM D525-ISO 7536 for gasoline and ASTM D2274 and EN 14 112 for diesel fuels), which can be too time consuming and labor intensive to be used for spot checking. According to the company, the tester features:

- Simple handling procedures, small sample sizes, improved user safety, automatic operation and simple cleaning procedures.
- A small hermetically sealed test chamber, in which a very fast artificial aging process can be initiated.
