Each two-hour segment will provide case studies, expert panel discussions and innovation showcases. They will also offer the ability for attendees to network with fellow engineers, R&D, design and manufacturing professionals, plus meet face-to-face with industry speakers. The agenda is as follows:

Day One — Tuesday, September 10, 2013

Seminar 1 — 10am-11:45am — Design Ideation & Innovation for Engineers

This ssession will act as a hands-on workshop to redefine the initial creativity and ideation process that engineers are always trying to improve upon. Topics could include assumption storming, designing for Six Sigma and more. Hosted by Don Baumgarten, Senior Program Manager, Stratos; and Jessica Urban, Director, Program Management, Stratos.

Seminar 2 — 1pm-2:45pm — Additive Manufacturing Best Practices

This session will highlight several healthcare additive manufacturing successes that utilize a variety of different technologies. Hosted by Lee Dockstader, Vice President of Business Development, 3D Systems.

Seminar 3 — 3pm-4:45pm — Energy Efficiency

Hosted by Arnold Mueller, Director of Service and Operations, Bosch Rexroth Corporation.

Day Two — Wednesday, September 11, 2013

Seminar 4 — 10am-11:45am — Manufacturability: Product Design and Manufacturing Integration

This includes an entertaining look at common development pitfalls, as well as identifying some unique innovation factors such as perception and emotion. Seminar 5 — 1pm-2:45pm — Advanced Robotics Applications in Manufacturing

This popular session will address how robotic automation is changing the face of North American manufacturing. Hear examples on the latest advancement in applications of robot accuracy, how to measure robot accuracy and trends guiding robot purchasing decisions. Hosted by Steve Kruse, Senior Applications Engineer, Bastian Solutions.

Seminar 6 — 3pm-4:45pm — Maximizing Motors and Motion Control Technology on the Factory Floor

In this session, we will explore technologies that can help machine builders and manufacturers and how they can be incorporated into a modular machine design.
