The new machine also uses two spindles with a Y-axis and 11 live tool stations. With a 10-inch chuck, plus a horizontal lathe with a 2.93" bar capacity and 4,000 rpm spindle speed, the company says the HL-35DMSY is competitive with other live tool machines. Typical applications include medical, military, aerospace and automotive aftermarket segments.

Terry Kisch, general manager of the company's North American division, says: “Our patented 23-station turret reduces production time because you have enough live tools to complete complex parts without changing tools. Plus, our dual spindle enables users to machine the inside and outside of a part, producing a complete part at one time.  This also improves accuracy because you are not moving the part to a different machine.”
