Intertape Polymer Group® Inc. (IPG; Bradenton, Fl.) has announced the expansion of its Corru-Grip carton sealing tape line designed for optimal closure of highly recycled corrugate. This adhesive formulation can seal boxes in a wider range of temperature and humidity that traditional hot melt carton sealing tape products. This is increasingly important for manufacturers, because more than 90 percent of all corrugated boxes are recovered for recycling, and the average percent of recycled content in a corrugated box is now more than 40 percent. The higher the percent of recycled content, the more challenging it is for traditional adhesives to seal the box. IPG is confident its Corru-Grip line will be a reliable solution for corrugated boxes containing a high percentage of recycled fibers.
