Honeywell (Houston, Texas) has announced the availability of OneWireless Network Release 210, which incorporates several new features, include over-the-air (OTA) device provisioning. The company says that, in addition to the Gateway General Client Interface (GCI) and native integration of OneWireless field networks into the company’s Experion Process Knowledge System can make wireless technologies easier to deploy and operate. With the OTA feature, field devices can now be configured and commissioned without having to invest in handheld devices. Without the need for local provisioning, networks can be set up more cheaply and with improved worker safety. In addition, the GCI feature allows operators to continue using legacy protocols and proprietary applications while making it easier to wirelessly expand.
