According to the company, replacing traditional brake pairs with an encoder cable, such as the TOPSERV cables, allows for enhanced transmission of motor position data and feedback, such as operating temperature. There is a smaller chance of the disruption of data or power transmission caused by any electromagnetic interference or "cross talk," and allows companies to minimize the amount of cabling used in a given application. This can reduce maintenance time, along with cut the lifetime costs of an application.
