Serapid, Inc. (Sterling Heights, Mich.) has developed a triple mast station for an engineering and scientific services firm providing support to the U.S. Department of Defense. There are no hydraulics or pneumatics involved, as the station is operated electro-mechanically by a single motor. A the core of the Telemast is Serapid's rigid chain column, which allows for the stable lift and positioning of loads up to 750 pounds with an accuracy within 5mm. The mast can travel 11 feet in 30 seconds and reaches heights from 4 to 15 feet.
