Hyster Company (Greenville, N.C.) has lengthened the powertrain warranty of its 3,000- to 19,000-pound lift capacity Fortis cushion and pneumatic-tired trucks to three years or 6,000 hours. The company says the existing powertrain offers dependability in the toughest conditions, and multiple configurations are available at purchase to tailor the product to the customer's needs. In addition, Hyster's DuraMatch transmission system includes an Auto Deceleration System that can extend brake life up to 60 percent while automatically slowing the truck when the accelerator pedal is released. The Fortis trucks also use a larger transmission clutch pack, which lasts longer than standard-sized packs.
