Siemens AG Invests Whopping $217M In Wind Power

BERLIN (AP) — German industrial giant Siemens AG says it plans to invest more than euro150 million ($217 million) over the next two years to expand its wind-power operations in Denmark. The company said Wednesday that the plans include new research and development centers in Brande and Aalborg, plus expanding offices in Brande and Vejle.

The company said Wednesday that the plans include new research and development centers in Brande and Aalborg, plus expanding offices in Brande and Vejle.

To meet the rising demand for renewable energy, Siemens says it has already opened new wind turbine plants in China and the U.S., and research and development centers in Germany, Denmark, Britain, the Netherlands and the U.S.

Jens-Peter Saul, the chief executive of Siemens Wind Power unit, says more new plants are planned for Britain, Canada, Russia and India.
