Honda has received eight reports of power window switches that caught fire in Japan between July 2010 and May 2011. Two persons suffered slight hand burns.

Transport ministry officials said powder from aromatic and cleansing substances sprayed inside vehicles might remain inside power window switches and catch fire due to friction.
