Fisker Automotive Names New CEO from GM

Tony Posawatz is a 30-year veteran of General Motors who oversaw the development of the Chevrolet Volt.

NEW CEO: Luxury hybrid maker Fisker Automotive named Tony Posawatz its new CEO. Posawatz is a 30-year veteran of General Motors who oversaw the development of the Chevrolet Volt. He retired from GM in July and was recruited by Fisker's outgoing CEO.

FISKER STRUGGLES: Fisker is a five-year-old, privately held company that has struggled to get its first model to the market. It has sold just 1,000 Fisker Karma hybrid sports cars since launching them last fall.

WHAT'S NEXT: Seasoned executives like Posawatz lend the company some weight and could help it appeal to investors. Posawatz says he's excited about Fisker's next model, the Atlantic midsize sedan, which the company hopes to start selling by the end of 2013.
