AUBURN HILLS, Mich.-- Plex Systems, Inc., a provider of ERP software for manufacturers, recently announced that more than 450 guests attended the PowerPlex 2010 user conference in Dearborn, Mich.

The three-day event presented opportunities for members of the Plex Systems community and prospects considering the technology to learn about the product, share customer best practices and hear about the state of the software as a service ERP software company.

The conference theme, “Accelerating out of the downturn,” reflects that manufacturers are optimistic and poised for strategic growth after emerging from 2009’s challenging economic situation, which saw many businesses contract, be acquired or go out of business. In 2010, these manufacturers are now poised for strong growth.

This year’s PowerPlex convened regional and global manufacturers that have weathered the economic downtown, and have emerged as high performers at the leading-edge of the sector’s uptick. The three-day conference, the most well-attended PowerPlex user conference since the event's inception in 2002, included:

  • A State of the Company presentation by Plex Systems President and CEO Mark Symonds, showcasing enhanced product offerings; customer successes; and expansion into a new Auburn Hills-based technical center. Symonds shone the spotlight on the success of Plex Online manufacturing companies that recently received various industry accolades.
  • An in-depth technology update provided by Plex Systems COO Doug Gregory and Director of Development Jason Prater, introducing new tools that enable community-driven enhancements to the software including Wiki functionality and an active Customer Forum; as well as access of the Plex Online system via a range of Web browsers and mobile devices.
  • A series of well-attended Best Practices breakout sessions presented by Plex Online users covered topics ranging from machine integration, medical device manufacturing and supply chain management to other key manufacturing, operations and management areas.
  • Informative introductory classes were useful to new users of the Plex Online system, as well as more advanced “master classes” covering topics such as Product Management, Quality Management, and Continuous Improvement.

“We recognize the tremendous task set before today's manufacturers,” said Plex Systems Vice President of Marketing, Patrick Fetterman. “This annual conference is specifically designed to provide the tools and knowledge necessary to maximize the effectiveness of the Plex Online SaaS ERP technology, and help manufacturers use the industry-leading technology solution to make better decisions, improve performance, and foster continuous improvement.&rdquo

The event served as the opportunity to gauge common critical success factors of those manufacturers serving as first-movers out of the downturn.

In addition, Plex Systems and its customers raised nearly $10,000 through raffles and donations to benefit its 2010 Charity Partners: The Humane Society of Monroe County and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
