Ethernet Alliance To Host Live Webinar

The Ethernet Alliance will be hosting a live webinar, Ethernet 102: The Physical Layer of Ethernet, on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. The Alliance will provide two live presentations of the webinar, once at 8:00 AM PST and again at 4:00 PM PST.

BEAVERTON, OR -- The Ethernet Alliance will be hosting a live webinar, Ethernet 102: The Physical Layer of Ethernet, on Tuesday, February 28, 2012. The Alliance will provide two live presentations of the webinar, once at 8:00 AM PST and again at 4:00 PM PST. The webinar is expected to last 40-45 minutes with a 15-20 minute Q&A session at the end.

Registration closes on February 27, 2012 at 11:59 PM PST.

The webinar features presenters Scott Kipp, Ethernet Alliance President and Senior Technologist at Brocade and Frank Yang, Ethernet Alliance Marketing Chair of the Next Generation Enterprise Cabling Subcommittee and Manager of Technical Marketing at CommScope, Inc.

Ethernet 102: The Physical Layer of Ethernet is a high-level presentation on the basics of the Ethernet physical layer.  This is one of the first webinars in the University of Ethernet program and investigates the physical layer from the cabling to the MAC layer.  This presentation covers Ethernet nomenclature such as 10GBASE-LRM and signal encodings such as 10GBASE-R.  From Fast Ethernet to 100 Gigabit Ethernet, Ethernet 102 shows real world examples of copper and physical interfaces.
