Kohler Settles Trademark Lawsuit With... Arizona Salon?

An Arizona salon school has agreed to drop its name after it was sued for trademark infringement by Wisconsin's Kohler Co.

KOHLER, Wis. (AP) — An Arizona salon school has agreed to drop its name after it was sued for trademark infringement by Wisconsin's Kohler Co.

The multi-billion dollar manufacturer of bathtubs, toilets and other products holds more than 30 trademarks that include the name Kohler. The company has trademarked the name for a variety of goods, including spa and salon services, shampoo and lotions.

Jill and Burt Kohler own a cosmetology school in Scottsdale, Ariz., called Kohler Academy. Not anymore. Kohler wanted $400,000 plus damages for trademark infringement. Jill Kohler tells the Journal Sentinel they settled fairly quickly and changed the name of the school to Penrose Academy.
