FIELDALE, Va. (AP) — Eastman Chemical Co. plans to invest $40 million over the next three years to expand its manufacturing operation in Henry County, creating 25 jobs.

Gov. Bob McDonnell announced the planned expansion on Wednesday.

The facility acquired by Eastman last year manufactures window films for the automotive and architectural markets and employs about 500 people.

Eastman is based in Kingsport, Tenn., and serves customers in about 100 countries. The company employs about 14,000 people around the world.

McDonnell approved a $75,000 grant from the Governor's Opportunity Fund for the project. The Virginia Tobacco Indemnification and Community Revitalization Commission approved $230,000 in Tobacco Region Opportunity Funds.
