MIDDLEBURY, Ind. (AP) -- A recreational vehicle maker is adding workers for a third production line at a northern Indiana factory.
The Grand Design RV factory in Middlebury hired about 70 people earlier this year, boosting its workforce to nearly 450 employees. Company spokesman Marty Friend tells The Elkhart Truth (https://bit.ly/1dm3zuf ) that it expects to hire 65 more people over the next several months for the new production line.
The company says it is increasing production at the Elkhart County factory to meet growing demand for its fifth-wheel towable RV.
Grand Design started operations in late 2012 after its three founders left positions with Elkhart-based RV maker Thor Industries.
Numerous RV-related companies have been adding jobs in northern Indiana as the industry's rebound continues from the recession, when thousands of workers lost jobs.
