APPLETON, Wis. (AP) — A company that makes pouches and other flexible packaging is opening a new plant in Appleton, creating 56 jobs.

The Coating Excellence International facility is scheduled to open in about four months.

The company is receiving financial help through recovery-zone bonds made possible by the federal stimulus package.

The Post-Crescent of Appleton says the Common Council is expected to issue to $20 million in tax-exempt bonds next month to assist the company. The money would be used for building improvements and equipment purchases.

Coating Excellence is based in Wrightstown. It has about 525 employees.

Manufacturing executive Louann Mueller says the company has had great experiences with the work ethic and expertise of Fox River Valley workers.
