GREENVILLE, N.C.  NACCO Materials Handling Group, Inc. (NMHG), the makers of Yale® and Hyster® lift trucks, has announced the addition of 401 workers for the company’s Sulligent, Ala., Berea, Ky., Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, and Greenville, N.C., lift truck manufacturing facilities.

“We’ve been waiting for this day for quite some time,” said Jonathan Dawley, VP of marketing, NMHG. “Thanks to great leadership, preparation and the hard work of our employees, we were able to weather this recession and position ourselves to respond to the economic rebound.  Even during one of the worst recessions in history, NMHG launched eight new product lines.  We aren’t ready to say that the economy is totally out of the woods yet, but we feel that we are in a solid position to take advantage of the rebound that is occurring. We’re very happy to play our part in putting Americans back to work.”

In addition to adding 401 workers, NMHG is adding third shifts to certain areas, and assembly plants in Berea and Greenville are starting up second shifts in painting and select assembly lines to meet expected ongoing demand and to reduce lead times.

“We want to extend our thanks to our dealers, supplier partners and employees for their commitment to the success of our organization and that of our customers,” said Colin Wilson, Chief Operating Officer and President, NMHG Americas. “NMHG is well positioned financially and with product and personnel to capture opportunities as the market continues to strengthen.”
