FAIRVIEW, Pa. (AP) — A worker is being treated and undergoing medical tests after he was hurt when a water line burst at a precision tool plant in northwestern Pennsylvania.

Matrix Tool president Tim Lewis says company officials still don't know whether the worker was hit with a piece of pipe, hit his head when he fell or was injured in some other way. Lewis says the worker was conscious at the scene and was still being treated late Friday morning at Hamot Medical Center in Erie.

The plant is located in Fairview Township, Erie County. The incident was reported about 6:15 a.m.

Fairview Fire Chief Brian Mesaros told the Erie Times-News that the incident involved an explosion. Lewis says that's not true, although the pipe did burst with some force.

Fire officials haven't returned a call for comment.
