ROSCOE, Ill. (AP) — There's some good economic news on the horizon for the northern Illinois community of Roscoe.

The Rockford Register Star reports that American Aluminum Extrusions Co. intends to open a plant in Roscoe that will create 130 jobs by 2013.

Village President Dave Krienke says the Beloit, Wis.-based aluminum manufacturer is expected to start with 60 jobs and could have its first line running by July 1.

Krienke calls it a "great opportunity" and he says he sees the potential for growth for years to come.

The new operation will be run at the former Warner Electric site, which has been vacant for nearly a decade. In 1983, the Environmental Protection Agency cited Warner for leaking hazardous waste into nearby wells. The EPA has nearly completed its cleanup at the site.
