EASLEY, S.C. (AP) — YH America, which makes hoses for power steering fluid in automobiles and other light vehicles is spending $5 million to expand its plant in South Carolina's Pickens County.
YH America South Carolina announced Tuesday that the expansion should add 93 jobs when finished by the end of next year. Company officials say they need to expand because they plan on sales growth of 30 percent by 2012.
YH America currently employs 480 people at its Easley plant. The company considered leaving South Carolina in 2007 and moving all its operations to Canada, but local and state leaders convinced the company to stay in Pickens County and bring its Canadian work south.
