The materials at MRI Manufacturing were industrial solvents used to make devices such as tubing for catheters.

The EPA says among the violations were mislabeled or unlabeled containers, failure to provide proof of employee training and inadequate record keeping.

Under the EPA's Resource Conservation and Recovery Act program, hazardous substances must be stored, handled and disposed of using measures that safeguard public health and the environment.

A call to MRI Manufacturing and Research for comment on the EPA fine wasn't returned Thursday.
