OSHA Cites Grenada Stamping $113K

GRENADA, Miss. (AP) — The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited a Grenada, Miss., company for 26 safety violations and has proposed penalties of $113,400. OSHA officials say in a news release that the penalties against Grenada Stamping and Assembly Inc., doing business as Ice Industries Grenada, come from an April inspection following a work-related amputation at the plant.

GRENADA, Miss. (AP) — The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited a Grenada, Miss., company for 26 safety violations and has proposed penalties of $113,400.

OSHA officials say in a news release that the penalties against Grenada Stamping and Assembly Inc., doing business as Ice Industries Grenada, come from an April inspection following a work-related amputation at the plant. Details of the incident were not released.

The plant stamps, forms and assembles heavy metal parts for a variety of industries

OSHA cited the company for, among other things, failing to properly install guards on machinery to prevent workers from becoming injured by the equipment as well as electrical hazards, fall hazards and improperly installed exit doors lacking signage.

The company has 15 days to appeal.
