TWO RIVERS, Wis. (AP) — Formrite Companies Inc. says it has reached an agreement to purchase Thermo Fisher Scientific's steel cabinetry plant in Two Rivers.
Thermo Fisher previously announced plans to close the plant and move its steel fabrication to Texas and Mexico.
Formrite owner, president and CEO David Wage says the companies plan to close the sale by the end of the year, and then Formrite will begin moving all of its manufacturing operations to the new plant.
In a news release Friday, Wage says he expects all manufacturing to be moved from the company's current Two Rivers location to the new plant in the next several months.
The Herald Times Reporter (http://htrne.ws/rErqb4 ) says according to Wage, the new site is 375,000 square feet, compared with about 80,000 square feet at the existing location.
