BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Federal safety inspectors are proposing $90,000 in fines against a western New York manufacturer, saying inspectors found several potential hazards at the plant.
The Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration says Friday that the findings are the result of an October inspection of the Gray Metal Products plant in Avon, in Livingston County 20 miles south of Rochester.
Inspectors reported that several hazards that had been cited and corrected in 2007 had recurred, and that there were other new potential dangers to workers.
The dangers include instances of unguarded moving machine parts and inadequate employee training.
Gray Metal Products makes air ducts, pipes and fittings.
The company declined Friday to comment on the proposed OSHA fine. It has 15 business days to challenge the findings.
