CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) — A multi-alarm fire has swept through one of Camden's last active manufacturing plants.
Firefighters were called to the Magnetic Metals plant in Camden's Cramer Hill neighborhood at around 10:50 p.m. Monday. An hour later, the blaze was at four alarms and neighboring fire departments were providing assistance.
The Courier-Post reports (http://on.cpsj.com/MkoQ72 ) that Magnetic Metals, founded in 1942, specializes in stamped metal products used in a number of industries, including defense contracting.
In addition to its Camden operation, the company has plants in California and Arizona.
