OSAKA, May 29 (Kyodo) — Omron Corp., an industrial automation equipment maker, said Tuesday it will start selling in June power-saving solutions for precision machinery factories challenged by airborne dust and other problems, based on techniques employed at one of its factories.
The company will offer software that provides a simple screen presentation of energy consumption data easy for regular plant workers who are not power-saving experts to understand. It prompts actions when it detects room for improvement, the company said.
The software is estimated to sell for around 1 million yen. It also needs a network server, priced at around 200,000 yen, for storing data derived from sensors, sold separately.
