AR Board To Weigh Bonds For Aircraft Manufacturer

Little Rock's city council is scheduled to vote on whether to issue industrial development bonds to help finance an expansion of Dassault Falcon Jet Corp.'s aircraft finishing plant. The bonds up for a Tuesday vote would not exceed $60 million and the rental of the company's space at the airport would be used to repay the bonds.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Little Rock's city council is scheduled to vote on whether to issue industrial development bonds to help finance an expansion of Dassault Falcon Jet Corp.'s aircraft finishing plant.

The bonds up for a Tuesday vote would not exceed $60 million and the rental of the company's space at the airport would be used to repay the bonds.

The company announced in May it would expand its Little Rock facility. Other communities competed for the site.

Dassault plans to build a 14-bay hangar, with work expected to begin this fall. The hanger should be complete in 2016.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports (https://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2013/aug/04/little-rock-notebook-20130804/?f=news-arkansas) that the 250,000 square-foot expansion would double Dassault's space at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport.
